Disk images show their real name and cover art, editing a game
ShadowMount+ owns now works end to end, and Favorites stick.
- Cover art and real names for disk images. In Games → Game files
every.exfat/.ffpkgrow showed a grey placeholder and a bare
filename likePPSA30223.exfat. The image itself has no readable
metadata — it's all sealed inside — but the console already knows the
title, so those rows now read Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties ·
PPSA30223 with the cover next to them. - Edit a game image that ShadowMount+ is holding. ShadowMount+
mounts everything read-only, and it re-attaches any image whose mount
disappears within about 15 seconds — so there was no safe way to open
one for writing. The new Edit files… action checks the image out:
it moves the image out of ShadowMount+'s scan folder, waits for it to
let go, and mounts it read-write where you choose. Finish editing
puts it back and ShadowMount+ re-registers it. While a session is
open the game is hidden from the PS5 home screen, so a banner says so
on the screens you'll be using. - An interrupted edit is recoverable. The checkout is recorded on
the console, not on your computer. If the app crashes, the console
reboots, or you just close the window mid-edit, the banner comes back
the next time you connect — from any machine — and finishing still
puts the image back where it belongs. - Mounting an image ShadowMount+ owns no longer lies about it. The
old message said the image had been "handed to ShadowMount+" without
mentioning that the mount point you had just chosen was discarded. It
now says where the image actually landed, and what to do if you wanted
it somewhere of your own. - Favorites survive. Pinned sidebar screens were the one preference
that lived only in browser storage and were never written to
~/.ps5upload/settings.json, so they were the one thing you could
lose. They're now saved alongside theme, language and everything else. - The ShadowMount+ log panel shows recent lines. It was reading the
start ofdebug.lograther than the end, so on a console that had
been up for a while it showed hours-old startup output and never the
event you were troubleshooting.
