github phantomptr/ps5upload v5.31.0

latest release: v5.31.1
pre-release3 hours ago

The helper no longer dies during installs, a slow install is no longer
reported as a failure, and link installs got faster.

The helper crashing during a PKG install

  • Fixed. ps5upload asked the PS5 how an install was going, roughly once a
second. That question kills the process that asks it — measured on two
consoles against an otherwise identical build. If your helper went down every
time you installed a package, this was why. It no longer asks.
  • Your payload now has its own name on the console. It used to run as
payload.elf, the same generic name every payload gets — and several PS5
tools shut down "their" previous copy by that name. It is now ps5upload, so
nothing else mistakes it for its own.
  • A helper that was killed or crashed now says so on the next start, instead
    of leaving you to guess.

"Was not verified as installed"

  • A big install is no longer called a failure while the PS5 is still working
    on it.
    A 40 GB game routinely keeps installing after the transfer ends;
ps5upload was giving up after three minutes and showing a red error for
installs that went on to succeed.
  • It now keeps checking in the background and marks the install done when
the game actually registers — with a Recheck button if you want to look
again yourself. The package is kept until it is confirmed, as before.

Installing from a link

  • Faster. The download now runs ahead of the console instead of waiting for
it, so your connection stays busy rather than stopping at every chunk.
Expect a few times quicker; the ceiling after that is the PS5's own
    installer, not your line.

Also

  • Hungarian. Thanks to the request in #326 — machine-translated for now and
not yet checked by a native speaker, so corrections are very welcome.
  • Fixed a message that read "reboot dispatched to reboot" instead of naming
your console. It was wrong in English and in all 19 translations.
  • Dependency updates.
