Bug reports stop leaking your network, and a conversion survives leaving the
page.
Bug reports redact the logs, not just the summary
- "Redact IP addresses" now covers every text file in the zip. It used to
apply only to the structured fields inreport.json, so the engine log,
the payload logs, crash reports, klog and syslog went in verbatim — a
connection error readingconnect 192.168.1.50:9021 refusedpublished the
full address anyway. Every textual entry is now redacted as the archive is
written, on desktop and in the self-hosted browser build alike. - Addresses are hidden completely (
<IPv4>,[<IPv6>]) instead of being
shortened to192.168.X.X, which still identified the network. Ports and
surrounding punctuation are preserved so the logs stay readable. - Screenshots are still not scrubbed, and cannot be automatically. The
page now says so next to the option rather than implying the zip is clean.
Convert to FPKG
- A conversion no longer dies when you navigate away. The job always ran
to completion in the engine; what stopped was the page polling for it, so
the result vanished with the screen. Tracking now lives outside the page,
and finishing or failing raises a notification that links back to Convert. - You can pick the output folder, including browsing the engine host's
disk in the browser build. - Relative paths and
~work. They resolve on the machine running the
engine, and a missing output folder is created when the conversion starts. - An existing package is never overwritten. A conversion that would land
on an existing output name now stops with an error instead of replacing the
file. Re-running a conversion previously destroyed the package it had
produced the first time. - The work-in-progress warning says what it means: a package can install
and still refuse to launch, so keep the source you converted from.
Install failures say what actually happened
- Stream install no longer sends you off to upload a multi-GB package when
the real problem is the loader. If the installer helper could not be
delivered because port 9021 was closed, the app offered "Upload & install"
as a recovery — which cannot reopen the loader and only repeated the same
failure after a full upload. It now tells you to reload the payload loader
and retry Stream. 0x80B2116Fis described honestly. The old text called it a known
firmware/package incompatibility. The code turns up across several packages
and several firmwares, and the cause is not established, so the message now
says that while still pointing at the PS5's own Debug Settings → Package
Installer route.- An update skips a step we already know is rejected. A staged patch used
to be sent to the helper first, which tried an in-process install measured as
failing on both tested consoles (0x80B2150Fon 5.10,0x80B2116Fon
9.60), and only then fell back to the standalone installer. It now goes
straight to that installer — but only when it is already running, so a
console whose loader is not loaded keeps the previous path rather than
failing early on hardware where the in-process route does work.
Payload
- The opt-in installer experiment (
PS5UPLOAD_FULL_ESCALATE) now escalates
before AppInst initializes, matching the standalone DPI daemon's order, and
restores the original credentials and aborts if any step fails. It remains
off by default.
