github phantomptr/ps5upload v5.10.0

latest release: v5.10.1

Game covers are back, and the helper reads the PS5's own databases properly.

  • Game covers work again. 5.9.2's scrolling change stopped covers from
loading in the Library and the Installed games grid. That change has been
taken off both screens — it can't be combined with artwork that loads as
you scroll. The file browser keeps it, which is where it mattered most.
  • A cover that fails once now tries again. Every cover in the app gave
up permanently on its first failed load, so a moment's hiccup — the app
still starting, the console busy with something else — left a blank tile
until you navigated away and back. They retry a couple of times before
falling back to the controller icon. This is why covers kept breaking:
three screens each had their own copy of the same give-up-forever logic.
  • Game lists come from the real database instead of a guess. Reading
the console's app list meant scanning the raw file for anything that
looked like text, which sometimes returned a game's name glued to the
file path next to it. The helper now reads the database properly, so
names come back as names. The old scanner still covers the case where
the PS5 has the file locked.
  • New: Console Play Time. Game Activity can now show the playtime the
PS5 itself recorded, alongside the time this app has measured. It used
to report that the console couldn't provide it.
  • New: per-game storage details. The database behind Settings →
Storage can be read for any installed game, and a single entry repaired
when it goes wrong. That repair is guarded: the game has to be closed,
the entry has to already exist, and both databases are backed up first —
if the backup fails, the edit doesn't happen at all.
