github phantomptr/ps5upload v3.3.9

A clearer, more helpful "Install from USB / external drive" section.

  • The USB / external drive section is redesigned. It used to hide itself
whenever a scan found nothing — so it "popped in" only after results arrived,
and when a drive was empty the whole thing (Refresh button included)
disappeared, leaving no way to look again. It's now always present with clear
Scanning…, nothing found, and list states, a refresh that's always
available, and a short explanation of what it does (it copies the package onto
the console first — your drive's copy is left untouched — then installs it).
  • External packages now show real details. Each one is read on demand for
its cover art, real game title, version (e.g. v01.02), and an Update/DLC
badge — so two packages for the same game (a base and its update) are finally
distinguishable instead of both just showing a code. The list still appears
instantly; the details fill in as it reads each package. (PS5-native packages
that can't be read keep their filename.)
  • Your uploaded packages show their version too. The package version (and
whether it's a base game, update, or DLC) now appears on packages already in
your library, read straight from the package on the console — so it shows even
for packages you added before this update, with no need to re-upload them.
  • PS4 game updates now install. Applying a game's update (its patch) used
to fail on some firmware with a confusing "PKG header — corrupt or wrongly
named" — the update shares the base game's ID, and the usual install path
couldn't apply it. ps5upload now routes updates through the PS5's own update
installer, which applies the update on top of your game without touching the
    base
(hardware-confirmed: a Jak X update applied with the 3.8 GB base game
fully intact). If an update still can't apply — usually because it doesn't
match your installed version — you get a clear message instead of a scary one,
and your base game is never at risk.
  • Installing some USB / external packages no longer fails to register.
Packages whose name already includes the game's ID were staged under the wrong
filename and rejected by the PS5; ps5upload now reads the real ID from the
package first and stages it correctly.
