Smoother, smarter installs — especially when queueing a game with updates + DLC.
- Installs now go in the right order: base game → update → DLC. Queue a game
with its updates and add-ons and they install base-first, so an update or DLC
never tries to install before the game it belongs to (which wasted the upload
and space). Items within the same kind keep the order you added them. - A heads-up before an install that won't fit. ps5upload now checks free
space up-front and, if a package is clearly too big for what's left, tells you
to free up space before you wait through a doomed install (estimate-based —
the real installed size can vary a little). - No more spurious "Delete failed" after a successful install. The staged
package is now removed with a brief wait + retry (the PS5 can hold the file
for a moment right after installing), and if cleanup still can't happen it's
left quietly for "Clear finished" instead of throwing an error at you. - Queues of small updates/DLC no longer stall on FW 12. After each install
the app waits for the console to settle (the brief "screen goes black" blip on
FW 12) before starting the next item's upload.
