A fisheye lens with webcam noise, autostart that waits for the desktop, and the fixes from an audit of 2.2.0.
New
- Fisheye. A switch on the main page bends the picture the way a wide lens does: set Field of view to the game's FOV (110-120 is typical) and the stretched edges of a wide game frame are compressed instead, corners in place, nothing black. Webcam noise adds a small sensor's grain, stronger in the shadows. Applied after the network and after Frame Generation, so neither sees it; it lands in GPU recordings, Spout and screenshots. No measurable frame-rate cost at 4K. A game mode: away from the centre a click lands elsewhere than it looks.
Fixes
- Autostart at logon (#158): the program waits until the desktop is up and the monitors stop changing before it reads them; a capture refused "for now" (logon, UAC, lock screen) is asked for again instead of leaving the session on slow capture; a monitor that is late keeps its place in the settings; no display at all no longer fails the start.
- A still screen is held and the edit steadied on the CPU motion path too - before, a still desktop was re-evaluated every frame and the stabilizer did nothing there (66 of 66 frames evaluated -> 0 of 70).
- Quick changes no longer undo each other: two presses of the work-scale key move two steps, and a slider moved right after another keeps both.
- A preset with the strength at 0 no longer gets the card blocked as unsupported after an update.
- Turning the second parameter set (NR passes 2+) off is remembered.
- A recording folder that is gone no longer locks every dialog.
- Smaller: a wipe slider a hair above zero no longer counts as on (HDR divider, FG resets); NaN in a hand-edited pass set is ignored; the diagnostic package no longer keeps part of a refused file's name; a stabilizer that does not fit in video memory is tried once, not every frame; a Frame Generation fault with NR off no longer leaves two presenters on one window.
Tests
Suite on the release branch: 303 pass, 3 fail, 7 skipped. The three: the runtime manifest (re-pinned by this release), test_dda_format_pin (fails only when the screen stays still for the whole run - 3/3 on its own) and test_taskbar_startup_menu (the taskbar window was not available to the test, as in the baseline run). After the version commit the static gate and the release-contract tests pass.
