The second monitor works
The overlay was created at (0, 0) of the virtual desktop - the primary display - while the capture followed the monitor you chose. On a second monitor that is a program that runs, logs frames, answers hotkeys and shows nothing (issues #28, #33, #35). The chosen monitor now reaches both output windows: the worker duplicates that output by device name instead of output 0, and the overlay goes to that monitor's corner. Single-monitor machines are untouched.
An idle screen no longer costs a card
When nothing changes on screen the capture returns no new frame - and the worker ran the network over the previous one anyway, frame after frame. A still desktop was a full GPU load for nothing. It answers "nothing changed" and waits now, and the menu shows idle in place of the frame rate so you can see it. Anything that would change the picture - NR on/off, the wipe, a new window, a screenshot, a recording - still gets its frame. A toggle in Settings > Behaviour, on by default.
Fixed
- The Spout2 switch always looked off even though it worked: the menu silently dropped state keys it did not know. A test now requires every key the program sends to exist there.
- A GPU that cannot run the network used to lock the program on it. One machine listed the same card twice (DXGI does that); the second entry could not initialise NGX, the worker died, NR went off and the overlay hid - with the choice already saved, so the next launch came up on the same dead card with no menu to change it. The switch proves itself before it is saved now, and reverts with an alert.
- The switch was silent about everything: which adapter it chose, whether the network came up, whether the capture had to stay on another card. All three are in
NeuralScreen.lognow, always. - The theme fell back to light after a monitor switch.
- The resolution slider promised 3840x2160 at its top step. The network is capped at 2560x1440 - the value is the real work size now.
- Minimised windows are listed again in the window picker, and picking one restores it.
The menu
Typography split by role - IBM Plex Sans for language, IBM Plex Mono for readings - and the faces ship with the program, so it looks the same on any Windows install. A real switch instead of a checkbox. Sliders mark where the profile puts each value, and zero on the one that runs both ways. The source - whole screen or one window - is one control on the main page instead of two buttons on two pages. Quit is one centred line with a warning edge. Even spacing down both pages, checked in six languages.
