This is a test build for the performance and graphics issues on Mac, Windows, Linux and Steam Deck (#67, #181, #205, #8, #92, #51, #40, #16, #100, #215). It's not a release, and it will tell you when Beta 5 is out: switch to Beta 5 then.

What changed since test-perf-4:

• Macs: the GPU no longer drops to a low clock in the 30 fps parts of the game, so 60 fps holds more often. Textures use less memory bandwidth, and shaders with many textures (#215) draw correctly.
• Steam Deck: fixes the slowdown from test-perf-4 (#181), and the game no longer fails to start when the Deck reports less free graphics memory.
• Integrated GPUs (Intel, AMD Ryzen laptops): game memory is set up in small pieces as needed, so machines with little memory can start (#205). Less GPU work per frame and fixes for Intel graphics (#8).
• Windows: the game's main threads stay on performance cores on hybrid Intel CPUs.
• Render thread: graphics commands are now prepared on their own thread, which takes load off the game thread.
• Display default: Match display on every GPU. Dynamic resolution is an option, not a default.
• Fixes for crashes and rare freezes, plus everything else on Beta 5 so far (randomizer features included).

How to use it: macOS: open the .dmg and drag LAS Recomp into Applications. Windows: unzip and run. Linux / Steam Deck: the .AppImage (x86_64 for the Deck). Set up your game files on its start screen and press Play.

Please report on your issue: the same spots as before, your resolution setting, the FPS, and lasrecomp.log from the data folder.
