Warning
This is an in-development test build, not meant for general use. It exists so the people in the linked issue can test a fix and give feedback, and it may have bugs that the regular release doesn't. If you aren't taking part in testing this build on that issue, please use the latest release instead.
This is a test build for #40 (frame rate on the Steam Deck). It's not a release, and it will tell you when Beta 5 is out: switch to Beta 5 then.
What changed since test-deck-pace:
- The 30 fps hold now really holds a steady 30, and only kicks in when 60 doesn't fit for a while. In test-deck-pace it made things choppier instead.
- The graphics thread no longer re-checks textures every frame, a large saving on the Deck's CPU.
- Plus everything on Beta 5 so far.
How to use it (Steam Deck / Linux): download the x86_64 AppImage, make it executable, set up your game files on its start screen, and press Play.
Please report on #40: how Mabe Village and busy areas feel at 1x, and attach lasrecomp.log from the LAS Recomp data folder. Running once with LARECOMP_LOG_PACE=1 %command% in the launch options shows us exactly where the time goes.
