The composer, rebuilt from the ground up, and Light mode.

What’s new

• The composer, rebuilt. Tap a photo, a text or a shape and the bar shows that element’s tools; touch and hold to select several, and use Add, always in the middle, to bring in photos, grids, text and shapes. Move anything anywhere, even off the page, and guides help you line up edges, centers and spacing.
• Grids. Pick a few photos and get a grid: rows, columns or one featured photo, with dividers you can drag. Touch and hold, then drag to swap two photos or onto the bin to remove one, and the grid rearranges itself.
• Cutouts and frames. Cut photos into a circle, a star or a heart, or give them a torn paper, double line or Polaroid style frame. Double-tap to reframe the photo inside its shape; on Android, videos get the same frames.
• Text on the page. Double-tap to write right on the page, and drag a corner to scale the lettering. Try fonts as you type, save styles and copy formatting from one text to another.
• Oh! Almost forgot, we have Light mode! Choose Light, Dark or System in Settings › Preferences › Appearance. In the editor, the background around your photo is yours to pick too: Automatic, Black, three greys or White.
• Faster RAW. RAW exports are up to twice as fast, and thumbnails are ready about four times sooner. Noise reduction works at any ISO, and a RAW opened for the first time lands closer to the camera’s JPEG.

More improvements

• In the library, a Type filter shows only photos, videos or RAW, and combines with Favorites and the others.
• RAW files from Immich show in the library with the camera’s tone and no longer change brightness when you open the editor.
• Sony ARW files open with the lens corrections the camera recorded in the file.
• In Luminance range, a map shows which brightness levels the mask picks up.
• In the composer: groups in Layers, saved page sizes, and fill and outline with corners.
• Opening a recipe from the library works again.
• The support report is more complete, and you still review it before you send it.
• Compositions no longer pick up duplicate copies when they sync.

Install

Requires Android 12 or later. Download IMAGO-0.40.0.apk and open it on your Android device. For updates, keep using the same distribution channel (Google Play or GitHub) as your existing installation.
