- Chromium plays protected video that uses Widevine. Netflix, Disney+, Max and Prime Video open in WebKit, which plays them with FairPlay, unless you choose an engine for them.
Improved
- Importing from Arc or Zen keeps Spaces that shared sign-ins together. When one of them joins a Space you already have, the rest become Sub-Spaces of that Space's group, Zen workspaces that share a container come in as a group of their own, and imported passwords are saved once for the group.
- Moving between Spaces in setup's import review is smoother, setup's animations are quicker, and each Space in a group shows which group it joins, with room for Separate.
- Switching between Spaces of one group keeps what they share still: the extension toolbar, the pinned tabs while the group shares them, and a shared pinned tab's page. Only the tabs and the Space's look move.
- Chromium is updated to 156 and now built from Chromium itself with Crest's privacy changes. It sends Google none of your browsing, form or account data, and contacts Google only to keep certificate checks, protected video and your extensions up to date.
- Chromium allows third-party cookies as Chrome does, except in private windows, so embedded sign-ins and payments work.
Fixed
- Calls in Chromium can use UDP again, so they connect faster and sound better, while sites still can't see your device's local network addresses.
- The sidebar's media controls and Now Playing keep showing what you play when a site previews another video under the pointer, as YouTube does on thumbnails.
Development builds contain the newest changes and may be less reliable than stable releases.
