Changes since last release

From CHANGELOG.md, 2026-11-02:

Computer Use can read and press app controls through accessibility (#306)

  • New Community switch "Computer Use: read app controls (accessibility)" (Settings -> Extra -> Community Features, key computerUseAxElements, Experimental, off by default). It adds the app-scoped tools app_list_windows, app_ax_find, app_click and app_type: Claude lists a window's controls (role, name, states, position) from the desktop accessibility bus and presses a control or sets a text field by its [N] index, instead of locating everything by screenshot. With the switch off the tools do not exist and the accessibility bus is never touched.
  • Safe by construction. The desktop accessibility service is switched on only while a Computer Use session needs it and restored afterwards; a running screen reader is never touched; password and terminal text is never read. Every missing piece returns a plain "unavailable" result and normal Computer Use is unaffected.
  • Coverage. All four bundled bridges (X11, wlroots, KDE, GNOME) carry the new ax-enable, ax-restore, ax-find and ax-action commands (optional additions to the bridge contract, still v1). GTK, Qt, Firefox and LibreOffice apps expose their controls; Electron and Chromium apps need --force-renderer-accessibility.

Screen sharing ends with the cloud Cowork task (#293)

  • On GNOME and KDE Wayland the Computer Use screen-sharing session now ends when the task ends. The app checks the session's state every 10 seconds while screen sharing is up and ends it within about 10 seconds of the turn end; the page's release and Claude's computer_release_lock still end it immediately, and 2 minutes without Computer Use actions stays the fallback.
