Changes since last release

From CHANGELOG.md, 2026-10-22:

"Update available" follows this project's releases

  • The sidebar's "Update available" now shows when a newer claude-desktop-extra release exists, and
clicking it opens the install section for your package format.
    Upstream compared against Anthropic's
apt repository, so the button appeared while our packages had not caught up yet, never showed our patch
releases (v3.1623.1-2), and its link led to apt instructions. The check now reads this project's latest
GitHub release against the release and package format recorded in the package at build time, and the
click opens the README at the pacman, deb, rpm, Nix or AppImage section. "Restart to update" after the
package manager replaced the app, and disableAutoUpdates, work as before. New
    fix_update_check_own_releases.nim (linux).

The window no longer raises itself under focus-follows-mouse (thanks @balwierz, #292)

  • Moving the pointer over Claude no longer brings it to the front. With focus-follows-mouse and
raise-on-hover turned off (KWin, Cinnamon, ...), Claude raised itself above every other window on each
hover, and no window manager setting or rule stopped it. Upstream moves keyboard focus into its web view
from the window's focus event; on Linux, Electron's webContents.focus() first re-activates the window,
which goes out as an xdg_activation request on Wayland or _NET_ACTIVE_WINDOW on X11, and the window
manager answers with a raise. New fix_focus_follows_mouse_raise.nim (linux) skips that call when the
window is already active and the view already has focus; the main window and popouts are covered. So that
the first hover after launch also finds a focused view, the view is focused once after its first load
while the window is still inactive (KWin denies that request, as it does the launch one). Tray,
second-instance and notification activations are unchanged and still raise the window. Each decision is
    one [focus-no-raise] line in claude-patches.log
    (anthropics/claude-code#75905).
