Changes since last release

From CHANGELOG.md, 2026-10-14:

Upstream v2.37337.1 (Electron 44.7.0)

  • Logout and systemctl stop no longer stall for 90 seconds. With the bundled Electron 44.7.0, a
stop signal sent to every app process at once (logout, systemctl --user stop, pkill claude,
Ctrl+C) left the app spinning at full CPU in an endless loop of failed GPU-process relaunches until
it was force-killed. It now exits about 3 seconds after its quit cleanup instead. Quitting from the
tray or closing the window was not affected.
  • fix_app_quit no longer rewrites upstream's own quit. Upstream's second app.quit() after its
quit cleanup ends the app on Linux (0.4 to 0.9 s, measured on v2.26454.0 through v2.37337.1), so the switch
to app.exit(0) is gone; the patch now carries only the 3-second backstop above.
  • No more thin frame around the window on XFCE, i3 and Awesome. The bundled Electron 44.7.0 no
longer paints its 4 px band inside frameless windows (measured on xfwm4: the window is exactly its
content size). Hide window controls is no longer needed for that; the docs now describe it only as
the switch that drops the window buttons.
  • Extra -> Deployment shows when each setting became available. 24 settings that the panel still
listed as "upstream gates this @next" now show the version that enabled them; the 10 that upstream
still holds back keep the note.
  • Two patches re-fitted, no behavior change. Custom models: upstream now builds the Code session
env through a helper that applies managed proxy settings; our model variables go into that helper's
input, so a managed proxy policy still applies on top. Computer Use (screenshot intro note):
upstream moved its grant lookups into a function that can re-read them.
  • openssh is a new optional dependency (Recommends on deb/rpm, optdepends on Arch), as in the
official .deb: Claude Code SSH sessions can use the system ssh client and fall back to the built-in
    SSH engine without it.
  • Extra -> Deployment knows the two new managed settings developerModeEnabled and
chatAdvancedFileAnalysisNetworkEnabled and drops toolPolicyRules; the GrowthBook overrides
template lists the 33 new flags of this release.

Custom models: Fetch models reads a gateway's model info (thanks @stratosjl, #276)

  • A LiteLLM-based gateway's models arrive with their real window and capabilities. When the list
leaves a window unstated (gateway preset or no preset), Fetch models also reads the host's
    /v1/model/info: max_input_tokens sets the window, supports_vision / supports_reasoning false
turn those off, and embedding, speech and transcription models are left out with a note. A host
without the endpoint, or a failed answer, leaves the list as it was.

Custom models: streams that put thinking inside a text block (thanks @stratosjl, #277)

  • GLM 5.3 on TensorX no longer falls back to non-streaming. That LiteLLM-based gateway streams
reasoning as thinking_delta inside a block opened as text; Claude Code refused the stream and
resent the whole turn without streaming, paying for it twice. The preload now gives each run of
thinking or text its own block and moves the later blocks up; a stream without the mix is untouched.
  • The usage line of such a stream comes from the final message_delta when message_start
counts nothing, marked (end of stream, no cache figures sent) instead of printing zeros.
