OpenCMR2 1.4.1

Trees and banners no longer disappear at the edges of wide screens.

  • The stage is culled for the view's own horizontal angle. The game draws the sectors under a 90-degree triangle from the camera, while the port's views are wider on screens wider than 4:3, which keep the vertical view: at 21:9 trees and banners near the left and right edges went missing, and at 16:10 the chase camera already sees about 91.5 degrees. The triangle now opens to the angle of each view, split screen and the mirrored view included; views of 90 degrees or less are culled as before. Thanks to @mpietrowiak for finding it, the video and the fix in #13.
  • The 2D layout arithmetic of the HUD, the menus and the scaled sprites follows the port's x87 single-precision conventions; the menus draw the same.

Tested locally on Linux i686 and x86-64: the unit tests, including a 21:9 case of the culling test, and the runtime scenarios. Release packages are built and tested by GitHub Actions for each supported platform.

You need your own original PC Colin McRae Rally 2.0 game data. The downloads contain only the port, its dependencies and licences.
