Fredy 29 is here, and it has a whole new look :)
Fredy got a completely new interface. Dashboard, jobs, the job form, listings, map, settings, admin and finance have all been redesigned from the ground up. Your jobs, listings and settings stay exactly as they are, so there is nothing to do on your side. Update and have a look around.
Some of what came with it:
- Dashboard: your latest listings at a glance, and what each job found over the last seven days. Paused jobs show up too, instead of reading as "nothing found".
- Job form: lists what is still missing before a job can be saved. Each item takes you straight to the right section.
- Saving: settings and forms show a sticky save bar as soon as something changed, with Save and Discard. Reloading or closing the tab with unsaved changes asks first.
- Map: a legend for the pin colours, tidier popups, and a dark basemap in the dark theme.
- Updates: no more banner on top of every page. The footer shows your version and whether a newer one is out, and opens the release notes from there.
Find an address on the map
The map has a search box now. Type an address or place, and the map jumps there and marks the spot. It only moves the view, your listings are not filtered.
Two new providers
- Betterhomes: one provider for betterhomes.de, .at and .ch. Paste a search URL from any of the three, and every filter you set there carries over.
- Immoscout Österreich (immobilienscout24.at): paste your search URL like you would for the German site. Two limits come from the Austrian index itself: a district search is widened to its municipality, and renting and buying cannot be searched at once, so pick one.
Internet & mobile coverage in Austria and Spain
The Internet & mobile section on a listing now covers Austria and Spain as well, next to Germany and Switzerland.
- Austria: data from the Austrian Breitbandatlas (RTR).
- Spain: data from the coverage maps of the Spanish telecoms ministry, down to the individual land parcel.
Listings you already have in these countries are queued again and filled in over the next sweeps.
Fredy speaks Spanish and Italian
Switch languages under Settings → Preferences. Both translations are AI-generated. If something reads odd, a PR against ui/src/locales/es.json or it.json is very welcome.
Smaller improvements and fixes
- Travel time to a place type (nearest supermarket, gym, ...) now draws the real route on the listing map instead of a straight line.
- Driving, cycling and walking times are no longer re-measured every day for nothing, which saves requests.
- Duplicate detection understands Austrian and Swiss four-digit postcodes. Two flats of the same size in different Vienna districts were treated as one before.
- User management: changing someone's role or name no longer forces a new password on them. A duplicate username gets a clear message instead of a server error, and the user form warns about caps lock.
- Deutsche Wohnen works again. The portal started requiring a search token, and Fredy got nothing back without it.
- Schwarzes Brett Bremen works again after a markup change on the portal.
