Pi-Bolt 1.1.2 is 1.1.1 with /remote-control, which lets the Pi-Bolt Android app follow and drive a terminal
session. Pi is still 1.5.0, and the engine and runtimes are 1.1.1's.
Added
/remote-control(#243): starts a listener and shows a pairing QR
code for the Pi-Bolt Android app. The phone shows the live session (messages, thinking, tool calls and their output as they
stream) and can prompt, steer, queue follow-ups, abort, switch model or thinking level, and answer Pi's dialogs.
/remote-control tunneladds a Cloudflare tunnel (needscloudflared) to connect from anywhere;copy, devicesand
stopcopy the pairing link, list and revoke phones, and end it. Every connection is encrypted end to end with Noise
(Noise_IK_25519_AESGCM_SHA256), and only paired phones get past the handshake; a pairing secret is single use and
expires after 10 minutes. Settings:remoteControl.port,remoteControl.tunnel,remoteControl.cloudflared. See
Remote Control.
Nothing of it loads until the command runs, so without it Pi behaves and starts as before.
The Android app (#243,
#246) is released on its own, under android-v tags.

With the default settings Pi-Bolt sends what Pi 1.5.0 sends. The release archives on the Apple M5, 1.1.1 / 1.1.2
(medians of 25 runs, 15 for the -jit build's pi --version and pi -p; a second copy of 1.1.1 varied as much). Other work
was running on the Mac, so compare the two columns, not the tables of earlier releases.
| Instructions | CPU | Peak memory | |
|---|---|---|---|
pi --version
| 53 / 53 M | 4.7 / 4.7 ms | 19.0 / 19.2 MB |
pi -p (5 model turns)
| 204 / 205 M | 25.9 / 27.1 ms | 51.5 / 51.5 MB |
| Interactive, 5 prompts | 637 / 637 M | 62.9 / 62.7 ms | 76.4 / 76.6 MB |
-jit build, pi --version
| 56 / 56 M | 5.3 / 5.3 ms | 19.5 / 19.8 MB |
-jit build, pi -p
| 208 / 208 M | 20.8 / 20.8 ms | 52.3 / 52.4 MB |
| -jit build, interactive | 652 / 653 M | 74.8 / 75.3 ms | 77.1 / 77.2 MB |
The TUI is ready for input after 17.8 / 17.4 ms (-jit 22.2 / 22.0 ms). /remote-control loads only when it runs, so
it costs no start-up work; the executable is 1.1 MB larger, and about 0.2 MB more of it is read in at start. That memory is
the executable's own pages, not the process's: its footprint is 5.5 / 5.5 MB. Streaming a 60,000-character answer and
waiting at the prompt cost the same as in 1.1.1.
