Updating from 0.6.0: use the in-app update. From 0.3.0 to 0.5.5: install once from https://pi-bolt.opensec.in/android (those versions can't install in-app updates); your projects, chats and settings stay.
New
- Browse and install packages:
- Search: Settings › Packages › Browse searches Pi packages. Each one shows what it adds (tools, commands, skills, themes), its version and downloads, then installs with one tap.
- Install from a link:
pibolt://install?source=…links, or share a pi.dev, npm or GitHub link to Pi-Bolt. You always confirm before anything installs. - Compatibility notes: shown before installing packages with native binaries for other platforms or with install scripts.
- Per-project installs: a package can be installed for one trusted project only.
- Private packages: Packages › Advanced takes a registry URL, an optional scope and an npm token.
- The token is encrypted with the Android Keystore and never shown again.
- npm receives it only during an install, through a temporary private file.
- Live subagents on the phone: while a subagent runs on the phone, its screen streams its thinking and text as they happen. The phone's engine is now Pi-Bolt 1.1.5.
Fixed
- Background internet:
- Prompts: Android 15 and later cut an app's network about 5 seconds after it leaves the screen unless a foreground service runs. Pi-Bolt now starts that service when you tap Send, so a prompt sent just before switching apps still finishes.
!commands and/compact: they now keep their network in the background too.
- Home prompts: a prompt sent from Home now goes out even if you leave before the session connects.
- Copy: copying a reply with no tool or thinking steps copied every earlier answer as well. Now it copies only that reply.
- The phone's engine (Pi-Bolt 1.1.5):
- faster starts with extensions;
- lower memory in long runs and for big command output;
- clean output from extensions that print to the console.
Pi-Bolt Android app 0.6.1: Pi-Bolt running on the phone, and remote control for Pi-Bolt (/remote-control).
pi-bolt-android-engine-sources.tar: the corresponding source of the GPL/LGPL parts of the on-device
engine (glibc with Termux's Android patches, bash, busybox, git) and the scripts that build it.
