GeoLibre v3.6.0 adds an India GIS catalog, lets external plugins add point clouds and read private S3 objects, and gives the Python API awaitable commands. You can also explore rasters and vectors in a new example notebook, edit much larger database layers, and cancel a browser COG conversion. It brings together 17 pull requests from 5 contributors, 2 of them contributing for the first time. Thank you to everyone who helped!

- India GIS: a new catalog under Plugins → Web Services lists open boundary and municipal datasets for India, from national outlines to state and city wards. Choose a region and a portal, then add a layer to the map or download the data. See Web Services.
- Point clouds and private S3 for plugins: external plugins can add LAS, LAZ, COPC, and EPT data as regular LiDAR layers, and decode them with the host's own
maplibre-gl-lidar. They can also read objects in private S3 buckets through presigned URLs, without receiving the secret key, so install only plugins you trust with the buckets your S3 connections cover. See the Plugin API. - Async Python: every blocking
Mapcommand now has an awaitable*_async()twin, such asfly_to_async()andget_center_async(), so it runs directly on the event loop in hosts such as Shiny for Python. See Python. - A raster and vector example notebook:
Explore_GeoLibre.ipynbcovers COGs, DEM analysis, live earthquake data, spatial joins, and 3D extrusions in the Notebook panel. Newadd_tile_layer,add_cog,add_raster, andrun_whitebox_toolcommands back it. See Notebook Panel. - Larger editable database layers: editable PostGIS and SQL Server layers now open up to 1,000,000 features by default, and
GEOLIBRE_DB_MAX_FEATURESon the processing server changes the limit. See Adding data. - Cancellable COG conversion: GeoTIFF-to-COG conversion in the browser now runs in a worker, so the interface stays responsive and you can stop it at any time.
- Fixes: lower rasters no longer punch holes in upper ones on the deck.gl engine, which now also follows the Layers panel order; raster overviews average only valid pixels, so NoData no longer blends in; more EPSG codes and zipped shapefile datums resolve correctly; and Mapbox GL JS now loads from Mapbox's CDN when you open a Mapbox map, with a new third-party licenses page.
