V25 Playtest (3) Change log
Here are the major changes to the beta from the previous playtest
1. Train spawn rates scales sub linearly with number of factories
2. Reduced bot troop caps and bot’s now generate 500 gold per minute
3. Trains can earn gold by passing through only cities or ports
4. There is a bonus for trading with an ally
5. Ports and Factories share the same price scaling. Building ports make factories more expensive and vice versa
The changes we made are supposed to do the following:
- Slow down the scaling of economies in early/middle game to create balance
- Bots were earning 1k gold per minute in the last playtest which resulted in too much money earned from conquering bots and contributed to the high scaling of economies in early game.
- We are introducing a 5x bonus to trading with allies to bring more purpose into alliances (instead of having them serve as non-aggression pacts), if the 5x bonus contributes to high economy scaling then it will be changed appropriately.
- We also introduced same price scaling for ports and factories to force players into going for a naval or land economy, this is supposed to bring some balance as players will most likely be unable to do both naval and land economies.
