This alpha introduces the embedded Codex harness in the OpenAI Agents SDK for JavaScript and TypeScript.
Install and run the starter
Use Node.js 24 with its bundled npm. Check the installation guide for your platform's requirements.

Verify the archive against the checksums, then extract it. Set OPENAI_API_KEY and run these commands from the extracted agents-starter directory.

node hello.mjsThe example makes a live model request and prints a greeting. The installation guide also covers adding the four prebuilt SDK packages to an existing application.
