github oliverbravery/PrintGuard v2.4.1

Added

  • USB cameras plugged into the machine running the hub. Pass one into the container with a
devices: entry and it registers itself, ready to name and bind to a monitor, so a Raspberry
Pi with webcams attached needs nothing else on it. The camera registry's This machine tab
lists them too, and PRINTGUARD_CAMERAS=off leaves them to be added by hand.
docs/printers.md has the line to add.
  • Pushover as an alert channel, alongside ntfy, Telegram and Discord. Create an application at
pushover.net/apps/build, then paste its API token and your
user key into the Alerts tab in Settings. Defect snapshots arrive as an attachment. Priority
covers every notice the channel carries, warnings and recoveries included, and defaults to
High, which bypasses the quiet hours set on the device. It works in both hub and local mode.
  • Renaming a camera or a monitor. The name sits behind Edit in the camera registry and at
the top of a monitor's settings.
  • A fault grace period, in the Alerts tab in Settings. A camera or printer fault has to last
this long before it pushes a notification, which is two minutes by default, so a wireless
camera that drops out and comes straight back no longer reaches your phone. Raise it as far
as fifteen minutes for a flaky one. It cannot be turned off, since an unwatched print is
worth hearing about, and the dashboard shows every fault as it happens whatever it is set to.

Changed

  • An outage that nobody has answered is announced again every thirty minutes rather than only
once, so a warning you slept through is still there in the morning.
  • A camera that keeps dropping out and reconnecting is warned about once, naming the share of
the last ten minutes it was actually delivering frames. Each drop is too short to announce on
its own, but a print that is only being watched some of the time is worth knowing about.
  • A dropped camera is re-attached on its own timer instead of waiting for the warning, so
lengthening the grace period delays the notification and never the recovery.

Fixed

  • A long error from a test alert or a printer connection test wraps in the dialog instead of
    stretching it sideways.
