Optimism xlayer/v0.1.7
Important
This release requires a coordinated upgrade of the X Layer consensus and execution clients. It adds Glamsterdam L1 header compatibility and expands X Layer Gasless support.
The current codebase is in sync with upstream Optimism version op-node/v1.19.2.
Operators must complete the coordinated upgrade by November 10, 2026.
Both op-node (consensus layer) and xlayer-reth (execution layer) must be upgraded together to op-node xlayer/v0.1.7 and xlayer-reth v0.0.7.3, respectively.
Breaking Changes
- The optional Flashblocks metadata field
access_listnow contains RLP-encoded bytes instead of a structured block access list. Consumers using this field must decode the bytes as an EIP-7928 block access list. (#233)
What's Changed
- Accept Flashblocks payloads with omitted
receiptsandnew_account_balancesmetadata fields while retaining support for existing payloads. The paired xlayer-reth release continues to emit both fields. (#228) - Support Glamsterdam L1 headers, including the
blockAccessListHashandslotNumberfields. (5c87da4ee3) - Add
--l2.follow.source.skip-l1-checkfor follower nodes that synchronize from a trusted upstream L2 source without a local L1 RPC connection. (#204) - Add the Gasless whitelist contract and the
GASLESS_WHITELISTpredeploy. (bf93de28df,fc9acd5661) - Port X Layer Gasless execution, transaction-pool validation, and RPC handling to the updated Rust stack, and support Gasless execution in Kona proof generation. (
4184d6c2ba,bf3546a799) - Fix Gasless base-fee bypass so it applies only to the intended transaction. (
6b2d8f3318) - Ignore unsupported dispute game types when the proposer scans the dispute game factory. (#224)
- Add optional EIP-7928 block access lists to Flashblocks metadata, with RLP encoding and lazy decoding. (#221, #233)
