TaskExplorer v3.0.0
Version 3.0.0: a near complete rewrite, built on Endpoint Security, with a built-in AI assistant
-
Live, via Endpoint Security: a system extension monitors the system, so
processes appear the moment they start and vanish when they exit; dylibs,
files, and connections refresh as they change. No more password prompt. -
Built-in AI assistant: ask "what's listening on the network?" or "which
processes are ad-hoc signed?". Queries TaskExplorer's live data and can
drive the UI. Runs on-device via Apple Intelligence (macOS 26), or with
your own Claude or ChatGPT API key. -
New (Swift) UI: filter field with #keyword tokens (
#3rdparty,#adhoc,
#listening,#root, …), #everything to search dylibs, files, and
connections too, flat or tree process view, an inspector pane with full
signing details, and flagged items shown in red. -
Shared cache dylibs: enumerated per process, or indexed for all processes
so they show up in searches and assistant answers. Never suspends
Endpoint Security clients or core system daemons to do so. -
VirusTotal: uses your own (free) API key; per-key quota handling.
-
Export: save everything as JSON from the app; the command line (
-explore,
-scan) now emits real numbers and booleans, no longer needs root, and
documents -apple.
