Added

• Add a bridge mode (auto, on, off) in place of the QUIC on/off setting (config v14). Auto connects over plain WireGuard first and alternates with the bridge on each retry
• Add delete_account command that deletes the account through the VPN API and removes local account data (#6790)
• Add a SetBridgeMode gRPC call and vpnc tunnel set --bridge-mode to choose the bridge mode (auto, on or off), replacing the SetEnableBridges gRPC call and vpnc tunnel set --circumvention-transports, which are removed (breaking: an older desktop app calling SetEnableBridges against this daemon gets UNIMPLEMENTED)
• Add --wait to nym-vpnc reconnect to block until the tunnel has reconnected or failed (#6849)
• bridge_transports.enabled feature flag (FeatureFlags::bridge_transports_enabled, uniffi is_bridge_transports_enabled) for the v2 bridge transports (TLS and SSH after QUIC). Bridges and QUIC do not depend on it
• BridgeAddress in the connection data carries the bridge transport in use (transport: QUIC, TLS or SSH)
• When the bridge_transports.enabled feature flag is on, a bridge connection tries QUIC for 5 seconds, then races the entry gateway's TLS and SSH bridges. The firewall allows only the bridges being tried, QUIC over UDP and TLS and SSH over TCP, in both the connecting and connected states. With the flag off or unset, QUIC only as before
• Add support for custom secure DNS. Supported protocols: TLS, HTTPS, QUIC, HTTP/3. Currently only cli supports that. No UI support yet. (#6876)

Changed

• Read gateway bridge transports from transports_v2 (falling back to transports for older bridges), skipping transport types this build does not know, so gateways can advertise TLS, SSH and future transports without breaking the gateway list
• nym-vpnc reconnect now fails when the daemon rejects the reconnect because the tunnel is not set to connect (#6849)
• [iOS] Flush DNS when changing ad-block setting by reconnecting the tunnel (#6866)
• nym-vpnc dns set no longer removes all custom DNS. Use nym-vpnc dns clear instead (#6876)
• nym-vpnc dns set no longer accepts positional argument to configure plain DNS. Use one of the following arguments instead: --plain, --tcp or --udp (#6876)

Fixed

• Fix the gateway mixnet score being decoded from the general score in the gRPC conversion (#6859)
• Fix nym-vpnc connect --wait waiting forever when the tunnel is already connected (#6849)
• Fix nym-vpnc --wait options missing fast tunnel state changes and reporting success when the daemon's event stream ends (#6849)
• SOCKS5 proxy no longer misses tunnel state updates and reacts to them immediately instead of polling every 2 seconds. Fixed the SOCKS5 proxy sometimes staying on after the VPN disconnected, or turning off right after being enabled (#6850)
• Stop the internal SOCKS5 mixnet client and its listener on 127.0.0.1:1081 when SOCKS5 is disabled, so the next enable starts a new mixnet client instead of reusing the first session's (#6854)
• Enabling SOCKS5 now fails when the SOCKS5 address is already in use, instead of reporting success while nothing listens on it (#6854)

• Count bandwidth usage locally and fetch remote gateway quota less frequently to improve mobile battery usage (#6803)

• Stop emitting the same tunnel state twice while connecting the tunnel (#6852)
