- Indent and outdent bullets. While editing text, Tab moves the bullet
under the caret one level deeper, beneath the one above it, and Shift+Tab
moves it back up; select several lines to move them together. This works on
lists and on bullets you type with "- ". The Typography panel has matching
Outdent and Indent buttons; with nothing open for editing they apply to the
whole text box. Tab anywhere else does what it did before. Asked for in
discussion #368. - Save a copy keeps you on the original. "Save a copy…" writes the copy and
leaves you editing the file you opened: the toast now says "Copy saved — you
are still editing the original" instead of "Saved", and the file name, the
unsaved-changes dot and live sharing stay with the original until you save it. - Pasting onto another slide keeps the position. Copy a logo, a header or
any element and paste it onto a different slide, and it lands exactly where
it was. It steps down and right only when it would cover the same element
(pasting onto the slide you copied from, or pasting twice), so repeated
pastes still fan out. Reported in #569. - The top bar no longer shifts under your pointer. Each auto-save's
"Saved" note, and the file name beside the deck title appearing or
disappearing, used to push the buttons after them sideways — so when you
pressed Undo a few times in a row, a click could land on Redo instead. The
note now shows over the end of the title, and the file name keeps its place.
Reported in #546. - Connectors in decks written outside the editor now attach. A deck made
by hand or by an AI agent can name the two elements a connector joins
without giving it the right endpoints. Until now only the slide on screen was
ever re-routed, and only after an edit, so a connector on any other slide sat
wherever the file put it — in the thumbnails, the slideshow and the PDF. Every
slide's connectors now land on their elements' borders as the deck opens, or
is replaced from JSON. Doing so is not an edit: the deck is not marked unsaved
and there is nothing to undo. (#493) - A table with rounded corners no longer hides rows. When a rounded
table's rows needed more height than its box, the rows past the bottom were
cut off with nothing to say so. They now show, as they always did for a table
without rounded corners, and the corners sit on the table's real bottom.
Checking a deck (bento check,validate()) reports a newtable-overflow
warning with how many pixels the box is short. Reported in #494. - The Appearance menu no longer offers a font weight. In About, the
light-theme choice was translated as the font weight with the same English
name, so it read "Fino" in Portuguese, "Fin" in French and "Leicht" in German.
It now reads "Light mode" and "Dark mode", in every language. - Portuguese is Brazilian throughout. Strings added since the Portuguese
catalog arrived had drifted into European Portuguese ("ficheiro", "guardar",
"diapositivo", "ecrã", "palavra-passe"). They now match the rest of slides'
pt-BR ("arquivo", "salvar", "slide", "tela", "senha"). - You're told when a deck has no crash backup. Opened through bento/home,
a deck's crash-recovery copy is kept by the app; when a deck is too large for
it, the editor now says "Crash recovery is off for this deck — it’s too large
to keep a backup copy. Save often." once, where the save status shows, and
the unsaved-changes dot stops saying your work is kept in this browser.
Encrypted decks are never backed up there, so they never show it. - Save a copy no longer makes the original forget its file. After "Save a
copy…", the next ⌘S could ask where to save again, or write the copy instead
of the file you were working in. It now saves the original, in place, with no
picker (#556, #696). - A recovered copy that looks older says so. When the crash-recovery copy
this browser kept is older than the file you just opened, the banner now
warns "This recovered copy looks older than the file you opened. Keep the
file unless you know it’s newer.", with "Keep the file" as the default and
"Restore anyway" beside it. Keeping the file leaves the recovered copy in
place rather than deleting it, because the two times can come from different
devices' clocks. - Count-up leaves versions and addresses alone. On a text box that counts
up, a run of digits that isn't a number — a version like1.2.3, an address
like192.168.1.1— used to be animated too and settle rewritten (1.2.3
became12.3). It now stays exactly as typed while the real numbers beside
it count up. As before,12.500counts as twelve point five and
1.250.000as one million two hundred and fifty thousand (#584). - Typing after inline code at the end of a line is plain text again. In a
text box that already ended a line withcode— one you saved and reopened,
or pasted — the caret could only sit inside the code, so everything typed at
the end of that line became code too, and no key got you out. Reported in
discussion #626. - The text cursor shows at the start of a line. While editing a text
box, the cursor at the very beginning of a line was hidden under the blue
editing frame and the selection box's edge. The frame now sits a few pixels
outside the text, and the selection box steps aside while you type, so the
cursor is visible wherever it is. The text itself does not move. Reported
in #547.
