🎛 Nota 0.59.2 is out

A new instrument and a steadier engine: Nota Twin, a poly synth that morphs between two complete sounds, and several plug-in instruments at once without dropouts. You can also pick your own accent colour.

1. Nota Twin, a morphing analog poly
Twin is a 12-voice synth where every sound control has a side A and a side B, and the Morph knob sweeps the whole sound between them, effects and modulation depths included. Two oscillators sweep continuously from triangle through saw to square, with sync, FM and a Metal folder, and run through two filters with Brute feedback and drive. A source × destination matrix, poly aftertouch and MPE, an expression pad, per-part effects, a sequencer and arpeggiator that play from a held key, and Split / Layer for two sounds on one keyboard. It ships with 117 presets, and auditioning a preset with a sequence plays its pattern.

2. Many plug-in instruments, no dropouts
A project with one Kontakt or SWAM instance per track could push the audio thread to 100 % and drop out. Independent VST3 instrument and effect tracks now share the work across the CPU cores (AU plug-ins, plug-ins inside racks and armed tracks still run on the audio thread), and the engine keeps half of every buffer free for the notes you play. Four heavy instances that used to miss every block now play with time to spare.

3. Your accent colour
Settings → Appearance → Accent swaps the orange of the playhead, the loop, selections and toggles for one of seven presets or any colour you pick. It is tuned for every theme, and Nota Remote follows it.

• Several VST3 instruments (Kontakt, SWAM) no longer push the DSP load to 100 % and drop out: their tracks render in parallel, with headroom kept for playing (1a152db)
• Nota Remote no longer causes audio dropouts every 10 seconds on macOS (b50317f)
• Nota Remote on iPhone and iPad launches several clips at once with several fingers (e3a6a38)
• The default Projects and Samples folders follow the system's Documents and Music locations, including relocated or translated ones (a2589ec)

First launch: Nota isn't signed with a paid certificate yet. On macOS, if it says Apple could not verify Nota, open System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway — step-by-step guide. On Windows, click More info → Run anyway in SmartScreen.
