Fixes crashes on Android 12 and older. Both the F-Droid / GitHub build and the Play build were affected.
What was broken
Creating an identity crashed on Android 7 through 12. The same problem broke importing a key and sending a message on those versions. The crypto core used a Java method that Android only has from Android 13 on.
Sending over Nostr crashed on Android 12 and older, for the same kind of reason.
The F-Droid and GitHub build could not be installed on tablets without a phone radio, because its SMS permissions made a phone radio a requirement.
What's fixed
All of the above. The core and the PonyDirect transport are now compiled against the Java 8 API, so a call like this fails the build instead of crashing on older phones.
SMS is optional on the F-Droid and GitHub build. Tablets and Chromebooks without a phone radio can install it, and the SMS option only shows on devices that can send SMS.
About this build
The attached APK is the FOSS build. It carries the SMS transport and contains no Google or Firebase code, so it is the build for F-Droid and direct install.
