Desktop apps can be blocked again, and the daily sign-in Microsoft asks of some accounts is explained.

Fixed

  • Blocking classic desktop apps failed (#54). Apps whose id starts with win32: (Steam, CurseForge, Java/Minecraft launchers, EA...) were rejected with "The platform field is required". They are now sent as Windows apps; verified on a live account. A rejected block or unblock is now reported as a regular Home Assistant error, so continue_on_error in automations works.
  • "Invalid flow specified" could still appear on a slow sign-in. The safety net that finishes the setup for the Android app now only takes over when it actually moved the flow, never because a step took long.

Changed

  • Daily sign-in on some accounts (#52, #50). On some Microsoft accounts the Family session needs an interactive sign-in every 24 hours, even with "Stay signed in?" answered Yes; Microsoft then shows either "Help us protect your account" or a plain sign-in page. Both are now reported on the Connection sensor (account_interrupt: proof_confirm or signin_required), the value no longer flips back to empty in the middle of an outage, and the notification says which one it is.
  • Confirming "Help us protect your account". When Microsoft asks the integration's session to confirm the account's security info, the reauthentication now starts from that stored session, so the page actually shows up and you can confirm it yourself. The integration never skips it.

Docs

  • New troubleshooting entry for "502 Bad Gateway" from nginx during sign-in (#53): raise proxy_buffer_size and friends.
