Per-device entities now follow what Google says each device can do, contributed by @theSiegs (#188). Update through HACS and restart.
Fixed
- A Google TV / Chromecast no longer gets a row of permanently unavailable entities and a lock switch that does nothing (#173, #188, thanks to @theSiegs). Google only backs the time-limit entities (lock switch, ring and bonus buttons, bedtime, school time and daily limit sensors, remaining time, next restriction) for devices that enforce screen-time rules; a Google TV sets and enforces its own limits on the TV and advertises none of those capabilities. Each per-device entity is now created only when the device advertises the matching capability in Google's per-device capability list; the daily screen time sensor is kept for any device that reports app activity. Existing installs have the now-unsupported entities removed from the registry on setup. When Google returns no capability list for a device, every entity is created as before. The capability list is exposed as an attribute of the device's daily screen time sensor.
Note
Phones and tablets are not affected: the capability names were checked against live Android devices, which advertise all of them.
