- Custom icons for popular hashtags: popular hashtags on Mastodon are now displayed with custom icons in the Explore tab, in search results, as well as on profile pages in the featured hashtag section.
- This is working off a small dictionary of popular hashtag keywords.
- Custom icons are not intended to cover all hashtags. This is only meant to apply to a selection of the most popular and regularly trending hashtags on Mastodon.
- Hashtags that don't have a custom icon fall back to a regular tag icon.

- Colored page background in light mode: in light mode, the background of the page is now back to being a light shade of the accent color, instead of plain white.
- Improved icons for the navigation panel: icons are now filled when the navigation item is active, and a "pressed down" effect has been added when a navigation item is clicked or tapped.
- Improved design for the "... boosted" and "Replied to ..." indicators above posts in the timeline.
- Improved design for Private Mentions: they now feature a prominent badge, and a colored background.

🔨 Fixed
- Many color contrast fixes and improvements
- Added a workaround to prevent the bottom toolbar from overlapping with the system UI on iOS when Mastodon is added to the Home Screen.
- Fixed an issue where the post timestamp could overlap on an account's username when there wasn't enough horizontal space.
- Fixed an issue where in some circumstances the bottom navigation toolbar didn't overflow and scroll properly.
- Fixed an issue where the active star icon would appear on an edited post in the Notifications tab even if you didn't favorite it.
- Fixed the compose field styling when editing a post.
⚠️ Compatibility reminder:
- Tangerine UI v2.0.0 is compatible with instances running Mastodon 4.3 and newer.
- For instances running Mastodon 4.1.x or 4.2.x, please keep using Tangerine UI Legacy (v1.9) instead.
