This is a substantial one.
Here's what's changed:
- 📐 Borders
Overall update to the design: I've reintroduced borders in many places, around structural elements. The overall look and feel of Tangerine UI isn't changed. But this dramatically improves contrast in both light and dark modes, and fixes many clarity issues. Example below with the account tab bar that now has borders around it + in between its elements:
- 🚀 Boosts
The boost icon (🔁) is now a rocket, that launches when you click it. The other post action icons (Reply, Favorite and Bookmark) have also been updated, they're bolder and also have a new animation when activated.
- ✉️ DMs look like DMs now
DMs now sport a speech bubble look.
- 🔍 Zoom on emojis
Sometimes you have a squint to tell what a custom emoji actually is. Now with TangerineUI you can just hover and pause over an emoji inside a post, and it'll temporarily triple in size.

Improved composer
I redesigned the compose field. It is a collection of small improvements: bigger placeholder text, tweaks margins around the field itself and the emoji button, improved CW field, improved emoji picker and language picker, larger Publish button. -
Improved navigation/lists panel
If you have lists, the first 4 now appear on hover over the "Lists" item. They also appear if you click the Lists tab. I've also changed up the way the navigation panel buttons work so their hitbox spans the full-width of the sidebar. -
Many other tweaks and bug fixes, among which:
- Improved preliminar support for threaded replies (currently only supported by glitch-soc instances and Mastodon instances running nightly builds)
- Improved dark color palettes (fixed many contrast issues)
- Improved conversation view: the currently focused post now has accented borders + its author's avatar and name are bigger and bolder.
- Added support for moderation reports in notifications
- Mobile layout improvements: slighty more compact margins, slimmer top bar, and font size tweaks.
- Fixed misaligned search icon in places
- Fixes to server announcements
- Fixes to dismissable banners
- Fixes to timeline filters and toggles
