Critical fix
Fixed: emulation cores failing to load after v1.0.2 update
All emulation cores crashed on launch with "The bundle couldn't be loaded. Try reinstalling the bundle." after updating to v1.0.2. This was caused by a bug in the release signing process that stripped required entitlements from the app — specifically disable-library-validation, which allows the app to load core plugins. The app shipped with hardened runtime active but none of the entitlements needed to actually run.
Additional improvements
- On first launch after each app update, OpenEmu now re-signs all installed cores with a fresh ad-hoc signature. This makes the app self-healing against future signing regressions and ensures cores work immediately after an update without reinstalling them.
Known issues
- PSP (PPSSPP): Games crash immediately due to a JIT incompatibility between PPSSPP 1.14.4 and macOS 26's stricter W×X memory enforcement on Apple Silicon. Upgrading to PPSSPP 1.17+ is tracked in issue #49.
