Nextpad++ v1.1.2 — the native macOS port of Notepad++. Universal (Apple Silicon + Intel), notarized, macOS 12 (Monterey) or later.
A polish release: four weeks of your bug reports investigated and closed, a careful going-over for the macOS Tahoe look, and two small conveniences you'll use every day.
Two small things you'll touch daily
- Tab tooltips (#354) — hover any tab to see the file's full path; unsaved documents show their name and last-edit time
- A real title-bar proxy icon (#336) — ⌘-click it for the file's folder trail, drag it to copy the file, drop it into Terminal to paste the path
The Tahoe look, settled in
- Toolbar capsules keep steady spacing; the overflow (≫) matches the toolbar's style and transitions fade smoothly
- Plugins capsule hardening (#358) — newly installed plugin buttons appear right away; an all-hidden state is called out plainly in Preferences → Tahoe; buttons from uninstalled plugins are listed greyed as "(not loaded)"
- Help → Debug Info now reports real settings, toolbar state, language and plugin details — paste it into bug reports
Fixes
- Split-view crash fixed (#351) — editing the same document in both halves of a split view could spin the CPU and crash; cloned views now coordinate (a watermark bleed-through in fresh clones went with it)
- CJK composition caret (#361) — the caret now moves inside the composition while typing Chinese/Japanese/Korean, matching Windows Notepad++
- Fold Level in Python (#343) — folds exactly one level instead of everything nested, in all indentation-based languages (YAML, Haskell…)
- Preferences apply without Return (#341) — typed values stick when you close the window; based on community PR #344 by arj-co
- Show Symbol toggles persist (#339) — View → Show Symbol choices apply to all tabs and survive a restart
- Status bar (#345) — a long path no longer pushes the window wider
- npp 0.9.1 (#342) — the terminal editor no longer repaints your terminal's color palette on exit
Lost in translation, found again
- Deterministic translation lookup (#349) — the same English string now always finds the same translation in all 137 languages (German's Close → "rechts" being the star report), plus a batch of missing translations
- Chinese/Japanese vocabulary repairs (#340) — nine homonym slips fixed ("0 matches" read as "0 sports games" in Simplified Chinese; "hits" had become mouse clicks)
What's next
1.1.3 will be the plugin release — a large wave of newly ported classic plugins, plus new dark themes with Sublime Text and VS Code color schemes.
