The new UI's Duplicates page can merge copies again, and star ratings from a Kobo now reach your library.
docker pull ghcr.io/new-usemame/calibre-web-nextgen:v4.1.58Before you upgrade
- There are no database changes.
- The KOReader plugin is unchanged and stays at 4.1.57.
Added
- The new UI's Duplicates page can merge copies. Each group lets you pick the copy to keep (its metadata stays), untick any copy that is not really a duplicate, and merge the rest into it. Formats the kept copy lacks are copied over, then the other copies are deleted, after you confirm. Requested by @chaosblog (#2747).
- A star rating you give a book on your Kobo is saved as your own rating. The Kobo sent its ratings only to the Kobo Store, so they never arrived. They are now stored as that account's personal rating (1 to 5 stars become the matching score, clearing the stars clears it). It works one way: a rating set in the browser is not sent to the device. Reported by @eagene (#2248, #2637).
Fixed
- Deleting a book no longer stalls a large library. Each delete rebuilt the whole duplicate list inside the request, and a bulk delete did that once per book. A delete now refreshes only the duplicate groups the deleted books belonged to. Reported by @kanjieater (#2751).
- The new UI reader records a book open the way the classic reader does. Opening a book counts one reading session, and on a browser that shares its place an unfinished book shows as Currently Reading right away. A browser that does not share its place keeps its status to itself, as before. Reported by @ubikq (#2750).
