v4.1.55: KOReader stays responsive on weak networks, Arabic translated

A small release: KOReader stays usable when the CWNG Sync plugin syncs the library on a weak network, and Arabic is translated across the new interface.

docker pull ghcr.io/new-usemame/calibre-web-nextgen:v4.1.55

Before you upgrade

  • There are no database changes.
  • The KOReader plugin is now 4.1.55. Updates Manager or appstore.koplugin pointed at new-usemame/cwngsync.koplugin will offer it, or download it from /kosync on your server after upgrading.

Fixed

  • KOReader no longer freezes for long stretches when the plugin syncs the library over a weak network. Each page of the book list could hold KOReader's screen for up to 30 seconds on a slow connection, long enough for Android to show "not responding". Automatic syncs (on wake, when the network comes up, when the file browser opens) now give each request a few seconds, stop at the first one that runs out, and try again about five minutes later. Sync now and the first sync after connecting keep the long limits. Reported by @magdalar (#2329).
  • Arabic is translated across the new interface. 379 strings that showed in English are translated, and 221 fuzzy entries that had been matched to the wrong English text are replaced. Contributed by @sgreadly (#2707).
