github new-usemame/Calibre-Web-NextGen v4.1.51
v4.1.51: Several accounts without an email, quieter scheduled jobs, a short bug form

A small release: more than one account can now be created without an email address, scheduled jobs stop filling the log every 5 seconds when book sources are on, and bug reports on GitHub use a short form.

docker pull ghcr.io/new-usemame/calibre-web-nextgen:v4.1.51

Before you upgrade

  • On first start, any account saved with a blank email is updated to "no email" in the user database. It is automatic and changes nothing else. The KOReader plugin stays at 4.1.48.

Fixed

  • More than one user can be created without an email address. The first account without an email worked and the second was refused with "An account already exists for this email or name", because a blank email was stored as an empty value the unique constraint treated as taken. Reported by @bcsteeve in #2153, fixed by @sgreadly in #2672.
  • Scheduled jobs no longer log two lines every 5 seconds. With book sources enabled, every run of the import queue job was logged twice. Successful scheduled runs are now quiet at the default log level; failed or missed runs are still logged, and DEBUG shows every run. Reported and fixed by @sgreadly in #2673 and #2674.

Changed

  • Filing a bug on GitHub walks you through a short form asking for your version, setup, where it happens, your browser or device and the logs. Only the description and version are required. The Help menu's report link still fills in your version, page and browser. The project now also has a code of conduct.
  • The docs site at wiki.calibrewebnextgen.com is current again and updates alongside the GitHub wiki.
  • The README opens with a progress tracker showing pull requests over time and how each delivered fix landed, with every verdict and its source quote in docs/progress-tracker/.
