A small follow-up to v4.1.48: you can now choose how each KOReader sleep-screen picture fits its reader, Kobo sync no longer locks up on books with a Kobo-saved position, and older installs get their KOReader sync tables repaired.
docker pull ghcr.io/new-usemame/calibre-web-nextgen:v4.1.49Before you upgrade
- app.db may be repaired on first start. If an older install created the KOReader sync tables (
kosync_progress,book_format_checksums) without their link to accounts and books, they are rebuilt once with it, and rows for accounts or books that no longer exist are removed. Back up app.db first if you might roll back. - The KOReader plugin stays at 4.1.48. The sleep-screen changes are made on the server and reach the device on its next sync.
Added
- Choose how a sleep-screen picture fits each KOReader reader: Automatic, Fill the screen or Show the whole image, under Account → Devices. Automatic fills the screen when only a thin edge would be cropped. A change shows in the preview at once and applies on the next sync, without uploading the picture again.
Changed
- Kobo highlight and note requests no longer re-check the database layout on every request. The check is remembered per database and redone only when the schema changes, so it still refuses to run on a broken schema (#2547, from @sgreadly's #2566).
Fixed
- Kobo sync no longer fails with "database is locked" on books with a position saved by the Kobo itself. Every sync of such a book failed until the server restarted. Reported by @johan-autohome in #2602, with the fix from their #2603.
- No more thin white bands on KOReader sleep screens when the picture is nearly the screen's shape. It is zoomed just enough to fill the screen, cropped evenly and never stretched. Pictures you already set are redone on the next sync.
- KOReader sync data is removed along with deleted accounts and books on installs whose tables were created without that link (#2548). If the check cannot read the schema, it now says so in the log instead of reporting the table as fine.
- A source checkout installs on Windows without a C compiler. LDAP login stays off on Windows, as before. Reported by @Rol3333 in #2342, with tests from @theluckystrike's #2583.
