Custom-column search and shelf tags in the New UI, web-reader progress on Hardcover, KOReader that stays responsive, and a batch of sync, sign-in and import fixes.

- Reverse-proxy headers are now trusted only from proxy networks. CWNG reads
X-Forwarded-For,X-Forwarded-Protoand related headers only from this host, private networks (the docker network, your LAN) and a Tailscale tailnet. Most setups need no change. If your proxy reaches CWNG from a public address (for example Cloudflare's proxy forwarding straight to the container with no proxy of your own in between), add it to the newTRUSTED_PROXY_NETWORKSsetting, or set it to*to trust every peer as before. The log names any peer whose proxy headers are ignored. - KOReader plugin 4.1.45. Update CWNG Sync from KOReader's Updates Manager, or download it again from the admin page. The update brings the responsiveness and device-ID fixes below.
- No database migration and no new dependencies in this release.
New
- Advanced search in the New UI filters on custom columns. Ranges for numbers and dates, Yes/No/Empty, fixed-list values, star ratings and text (#2365).
- Book covers in the New UI show which shelves a book is on. Toggle under View settings → Show shelf tags, shared with the classic grid (#1254, #2261).
- Magic Shelves can filter on Last Modified, including "in the last N days", good for web serials that keep getting new chapters. Thanks @trallen (#2364).
- Web-reader progress now reaches Hardcover, and a book finished at 99% is marked Read there. Thanks @ashtakom (#2289).
- Slovak is fully translated. Thanks @misko903 (#2298). Russian was updated too. Thanks @standhaftsohnsergius (#2339).
Fixed
KOReader and e-readers
- Two e-readers set up by copying the
koreaderfolder are no longer merged into one device (#2351, thanks @befeil). - KOReader no longer freezes while collecting sent books or turning on Library mode (#2329, thanks @magdalar).
- Removing several files from a KOReader device takes one sync, not one per file (#2328, thanks @magdalar).
- An e-reader moved to another account registers there instead of being refused.
- Force full kobo sync is back, on the New UI's e-reader page (#2334, thanks @Glennza1962).
- Moving your library, or undated books after a Python/OS change, no longer makes Kobos download their books again.
- A page turn while a book opens no longer discards your synced e-reader position.
Sign-in
- A local-only account can sign in to the New UI when LDAP cannot (#2347, thanks @justemu).
- KOReader sync and OPDS sign-ins slow down password guessing without locking out a device stuck on an old password.
- Sign-in and Kobo sync keep working when the rate limiter's Redis/Memcached store goes down.
Library and import
- Split libraries: importing no longer logs "no such table: books" or leaves an empty
metadata.dbin the book folder (#2371, thanks @sgreadly). - Kindle EPUB fixer no longer garbles "—" or "©" into "—" (thanks @sgreadly).
- A library replaced by rsync/Syncthing/NAS sync is picked up without "Reconnect Calibre Database" (#2291, thanks @Dirk71).
- Installs outside Docker can set the library location from Database Configuration again (#2343, thanks @Rol3333).
- "Recent" no longer lists every finished book first (#2360).
- Deleting a user now removes everything the server kept for that account.
New UI
- Edit metadata is back on the book page's button row (#2338, thanks @magdalar).
- The top bar stays put on the Devices pages; Pin sidebar moved to the sidebar's foot (#2341).
- Adding a book to a user's library confirms it in that user's card (thanks @vinxa).
- "Edit default view" opens on your saved view.
Server
- Long-running servers no longer creep toward "too many open files".
- Settings saves work again after a database error, and a rejected settings page no longer re-schedules finished background tasks.
