github new-usemame/Calibre-Web-NextGen v4.0.84
v4.0.84 — Kobo highlights in your in-browser reader (Phase 5 of H1 — bundle complete)

What's new

docker pull ghcr.io/new-usemame/calibre-web-nextgen:v4.0.84

(or :latest)

This release completes the H1 bundle. First Calibre-Web-derived fork with end-to-end Kobo highlight import + web-reader sync.

Your imported highlights now appear in the web reader (#245)

Open any book in the in-browser EPUB reader. Highlights you imported from your Kobo via /annotations/import (v4.0.82) now show as color-coded overlays at the exact passages — yellow / red / green / blue per Kobo's palette. The reader sidebar gets a new Annotations tab listing every highlight; click a list item to jump straight to it in the book.

For highlights imported before this release, the server computes the EPUB CFI on first load via the converter shipped in v4.0.80, and caches the result so subsequent reads are instant.

What lands in v4.0.78 → v4.0.84 (the full H1 Phase 1 bundle)

  • v4.0.78 schema foundation
  • v4.0.80 Kobo position → EPUB CFI converter (100% round-trip on 145 real device highlights)
  • v4.0.81 automatic rolling-3 annotation backup safety net
  • v4.0.82 POST /annotations/import — upload your KoboReader.sqlite
  • v4.0.83 /annotations/<book> view + Markdown / CSV / JSON export
  • v4.0.84 web reader overlay

Coming soon

Text-select-to-create new highlights from the web reader + delete-in-reader UI ship in the next patch.
