What To Watch on Plex v2026.11.08:

Layout/Visibility improvements:

  • Create Session screen:

    • Rearranged layout to allow everything to show on one screen without scrolling. If logged in with Plex and selecting any mode other than classic the screen will jump to the bottom.
    • Duration and Matches settings no longer overlap the +/− buttons on small phones. "Matches needed" is now "Matches".
  • Waiting room/lobby screen:

    • "Start Session" button is now pinned at the bottom of the screen.
  • Vote screen:

    • "No preference", "Cast Vote" and "Continue" buttons stay pinned at the bottom, and only the posters scroll.
    • Rearranged layout to allow two rows of posters (4) to be visible on a screen without scrolling.
    • When there are more posters below, a small animated arrow at the bottom now indicates you can scroll.
    • After you vote, the posters you didn't pick are now dimmed as originally intended.
  • "It's a Match!" screen:

    • Posters now resize to the screen, so the whole page (including Play on Plex and New Session buttons) fits on any phone held in portrait mode

Various fixes and improvements:

  • Disabled success toast messages which only added extra noise and temporarily blocked view.
  • Fixed case in classic sessions with no match where participants who finished swiping first stayed stuck on "All Done!".
  • Fixed case after host restarted a session from "No Media Found" where other participants stayed stuck on "Waiting for host to restart".
  • Fixed edge case where if a library cache refresh failed (e.g. Plex restarting during the nightly refresh) it wiped the cache until the next successful refresh. The old cache is now kept, and the nightly refresh retries.
  • Fixed cases where a phone that was locked or lost its connection in the lobby or on the voting screen could miss the session starting or the result and stay stuck.
  • Closing a trailer on the voting screen no longer accidentally selects thet poster behind it.
  • Fixed Question and swipe pages relying on polling, resulting in small delays.
