UMTK v2026.09.19

Main Changes:

  • UMTK can now build the Coming Soon and Trending collections directly in Plex with the items in the correct order (release/air date or MDBList rank). This avoids having to edit sort_title which affects sorting in libraries as well. You can add as many as desired. For each collection you can specify the arr instances to use and which libraries to create the collection in.
When enabling this, don't forget the following:

    • Disable the sort_title edits if you used them before. They are no longer needed. (caution: you'll have to manually reset any remaining edited sort_titles in Plex).
    • Delete your old smart collection(s)
    • You'll have to repin the new collections to home

For TV Shows Coming Soon Collections, it is possible to combine any combination of Coming Soon, New Season Soon, Upcoming Episode and Upcoming Finale

  • Added New Season Placeholders option to create placeholders in case a "new season soon" is monitored but all previous seasons have been deleted/unmonitored. (for people who delete seasons after watching them)

Various QOL changes:

  • Unified and reorganized Settings in the web UI
  • Fixed missing icons for extra Arr instances
  • Dedupe overlay block names in the sample config causing conflicts in Kometa >=2.4.8
⚠️Important: You'll need to change this yourself if you have an existing install. Make sure every Name: variable for backdrop blocks is unique. e.g. red_frame_upcoming_movies
  • Add tvdb ID to TV placeholder folder name for better matching in Plex
  • default sort_title edits to off
  • direct builder fallback to tmdb ID if Plex metadata is missing tvdb ID
  • fixed tmdb id being used as tvdb ID in certain cases using MDBLists
  • Changed "Trending" section to "MDBList Collections" and "Plex Collections" to "Coming Soon Collections" to avoid confusion
