Install: download net-merge-setup-0.3.6.exe below and run it (needs admin; it upgrades an existing install in place). A portable zip is attached too. Not code-signed yet, so SmartScreen will warn: More info > Run anyway.
macOS: download net-merge-0.3.6-macos-universal.tar.gz (or brew install net-merge/tap/net-merge). Linux: install with apt, dnf, zypper, apk or pacman, or download the net-merge-0.3.6-linux-<cpu>.tar.gz for your CPU, or a .deb / .rpm / .apk / .pkg.tar.zst. The steps are in the Install section of the README.
Added
- Speed limits per connection from the tray menu: click a connection and pick 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50 or
100 Mbit/s (or Unlimited). The cap covers that connection's downloads and uploads across all of its
flows and takes effect immediately; the choice is saved and applied again after a restart (on macOS
it is kept under/Library/Application Support, so it survives a reboot too). From a
terminal,net-merge limit <adapter> <Mbit/s>sets any other speed, andnet-merge limitlists the
saved caps. Only traffic net-merge relays is capped, so an app bound directly to an adapter is not
affected.
Changed
- net-merge has a new home: github.com/net-merge/net-merge.
Old links, the install commands and Homebrew keep working. New Homebrew installs use
brew install net-merge/tap/net-merge. If your Linux update fails with "404 Not Found" for
rohit267.github.io, see Troubleshooting in the README.
Fixed
- A fast link no longer gets skipped because it holds many idle connections (chat apps and browsers
keep some open). New connections now go by how busy each link really is. Speed estimates are smoothed,
so one burst doesn't flip which link is preferred, and they start over when an adapter gets a new
address. Thanks to @vwidmer (#48). - The built-in SOCKS5 proxy checks a request before it reads it. A request with a non-zero reserved
byte is now dropped, and a command other than CONNECT gets its "not supported" answer straight away.
Thanks to @b0r1ssh (#61).
