This release substantially reduces cold-start preparation and health-check time on multi-provider installations while putting firm bounds around NNTP connection creation and cleanup.
Highlights
- Queue imports now establish and validate health-capable connections during preparation, then prime a bounded set with real
STATtraffic before the full health check starts. Primary providers receive the same handoff after BODY preparation, avoiding the previous cold transition into health work. - Bulk health checks qualify providers by sampled release coverage, wait briefly for enough useful capacity, and direct lanes toward providers that can contribute. Idle sockets held by non-contributors can be reclaimed temporarily and are restored after the check.
- A shared lifetime budget caps the application at 512 live NNTP sockets and 32 simultaneous handshakes across every provider pool and provider-graph reload. Connection creation, cancellation, maintenance, and disposal now drain safely instead of allowing overlapping speculative work to accumulate.
Fixes and diagnostics
- Preparation skips known non-media and blocklisted files before first-segment work, removing large delays from sample, metadata, and other irrelevant payloads.
- Health-check-only remains readable as a legacy role, while the provider editor presents Primary and Backup + health checks as the supported operational choices. Plain Backup stays out of normal bulk health lanes but remains available as the final fallback for articles missing from the health-capable providers.
- Added an optional warm-validation concurrency control. Blank selects an automatic provider-aware value; manual values remain available for unusually large installations.
- The navigation connection bar now reports genuinely warm sockets—active or recently authenticated, validated, or used—instead of treating every open idle socket as immediately ready.
- Queue and Watchdog provider summaries stay within their columns, expose complete details on hover, and use clearer Found, Missing, Share, and Rate labels.
- Provider routing diagnostics now record sampled coverage, useful capacity, reclaimed sockets, restored pools, provider contribution, and end-to-end health throughput.
