D2Coding 1.4.0 adds a dotted zero that you can turn on, keeps more glyphs on the baseline with FreeType hinting, and drops four ligatures that changed the meaning of a period.
Please uninstall any previously installed version before installing.
What changed
- A dotted zero is available as an alternate to the slashed one (#106). It is off by default and is turned on with the
cv01OpenType feature, also registered asss01. For example, in VS Code set"editor.fontLigatures": "'cv01'", and in Windows Terminal add"features": { "cv01": 1 }to the font settings. The README lists more editors and terminals. The standard builds now have aGSUBtable that holds only these two features, so nothing changes unless they are turned on. - With FreeType hinting, 27 Regular and 87 Bold glyphs were drawn one pixel above the baseline at some sizes between 9 and 29 ppem, among them
i,іandѝat 18 ppem in Regular (#107, #108, #109, #110, #111, #112). They now sit on the baseline. No outline changed. - The ligatures for
.=,.-,{.and.}are removed (#97). They raised the period to the height of a centered dot, which misrepresented code such as1.-x, Go templates'{{.}}, Nim pragmas and CSS selectors like.-mt-2.
