v0.14.0 - October 20, 2026
What's New: ✨
-
A profile can download teasers, clips, featurettes, behind-the-scenes videos and bloopers — set the new
Video Typeof a profile, and it takes videos of that type from the list that TMDB keeps for each media item — see Video Type and Example 5. -
A profile can be told not to search YouTube — turn the new
Search YouTubeoff, and the profile takes known videos only and waits for TMDB instead of failing and backing off, which makes an optional second trailer in another language possible; it starts off for every type except Trailer — see Search YouTube. -
Had a profile with
featuretteorteaserin its search query? — it still works as before, and Trailarr names it once in the log at the first start; set itsVideo Typeand its files move with it, with no new downloads — see Switch an extras profile. -
Every download records what it is — a featurette on disk no longer counts as the trailer, a file that Trailarr finds on disk takes the type that its name and folder say, and the new
Download Typeview filter andTrailer Typecolumn show it — see Download Filters. -
File names and folders that Plex and Jellyfin read — the new
{video_type}placeholder inFile NameandFolder Namewrites-featurette,-scene,-behindthescenesor-other, and the matching folders — see File Name. -
The Expanded and Table views show the fields of your trailers — turn on resolution, codecs, audio language, subtitles, container, duration, size, the owning profile, the type and the count in
Configure Fields, one block per trailer — see Views. -
The Known videos list shows every type that TMDB lists — grouped by type, with a type on each video you add and a
Downloadbutton per video for a profile of that type — see Known videos. -
Maximum Durationgoes up to 1200 seconds — bonus features often run longer than 10 minutes; the default stays 600, and a stored value above 1200 is set to 1200. Thanks @natemartin03 for the detailed report! (#686)
Bug Fixes: 🐛
-
A stop of a task now stops yt-dlp and ffmpeg at once — a cancelled download job no longer waits for the external tool to finish, the partial file is removed, and the job ends as cancelled — see Stop Job.
-
A second profile for the same video gets the same video — a profile skipped every video that any profile had on disk, so a 4K profile next to a 1080p one got TMDB's second choice; a profile now skips only the videos it owns.
-
ffprobe no longer hangs a task without limit — the video analysis calls now stop after 60 seconds, and the silence detection after 600.
-
Trailarr never deletes an extra that it did not download — the files scan now records the extras a media folder holds, so the
Deleteactions, theCleanuptask and the removal of a media item from Radarr or Sonarr act on trailers only. -
A batch download no longer skips its last item — a
Downloadfrom the library edit view with two or more items left the last one out; every item downloads now. -
The video trim API checks its output path — the
files/trimendpoint refused an unsafe input path but passed any output path to ffmpeg; it now refuses an unsafe output path too.
Other Changes: ⚙️
-
The
youtube_trailer_idfield of a media item is gone — theKnown videoslist is the one record of the videos of a media item; theYouTube Trailer IDbox on the media details page is now the add-video form of that list, a saved view filter on the field withIs EmptyorIs Not Emptybecomes aHas Videosfilter and any other condition on it is removed with a log line, and API users read the videos fromGET /api/v1/media/{id}/videos, whilePOST /api/v1/media/{id}/update?yt_idis deprecated and now adds the id as a video you chose — see Has Videos. -
A manual download with a YouTube id downloads that video — the
Downloaddialog's id reached the database but not the download since v0.13.0, so Trailarr downloaded the first video it knew instead; the id now goes straight to the download. -
The task scheduler is updated to quiv 1.3.0 — a database error no longer stops the scheduler, and a worker slot is never lost (quiv#86).
-
Upgrade To TMDB Traileris nowUpgrade To TMDB, andDelete Replaced Traileris nowDelete Replaced File— the upgrade works for every video type and replaces a video with a TMDB video of the same type, and your settings stay as they are — see Upgrade To TMDB. -
Messages name the video type — log lines, pop-ups, task names and download errors say "featurette" or "teaser" for a profile of that type, not "trailer".
-
Dependency updates —
aiohttp3.14.5 takes three security fixes, FastAPI moves to 0.143.3, SQLAlchemy to 2.1.5 and SQLModel to 0.0.48. Angular moves to 22.2.3, which takes the security fixes of the Angular CLI's MCP server package, and the build toolvitemoves to 8.3.4 for its own security fixes.
