v0.13.1 - Upgrade trailers to TMDB & smaller log database

v0.13.1 - October 4, 2026

What's New: ✨

  • Replace your existing trailers with TMDB trailers — turn on the new Upgrade To TMDB Trailer in a profile, and Trailarr replaces only the trailers that TMDB does not list, keeping the old file or deleting it as you choose — see Upgrade an existing library.

  • A trailer whose video Trailarr does not know stays, unless you say otherwise — a file that Trailarr found on disk has no video id, so the upgrade cannot tell whether it is a TMDB trailer; most are, because Radarr takes its trailer id from TMDB, so the upgrade keeps them unless the new Replace Unknown Videos is on, and the setting shows how many trailers of the profile it would replace — see Replace Unknown Videos.

  • The media details page says what the TMDB upgrade does with each trailer — for a profile with Upgrade To TMDB Trailer on, the Download Profiles section says whether a trailer is a TMDB trailer, why it stays (TMDB was not asked yet, TMDB lists nothing in your language, or the video is unknown), and why it is replaced — see Download Profiles.

  • Find the downloads that keep failing — when a download fails on two task runs, the library pages show a banner with a Review button and a new Failing Downloads quick filter, and the Download Profiles section of the media details page shows the reason of the last failure, with the fix when Trailarr knows it — see Filtering.

Bug Fixes: 🐛

  • Manual downloads no longer stop the scheduler — each Download click used up one of the task scheduler's ten worker slots and never gave it back, so after about ten manual downloads no task ran until a restart, with nothing in the logs; the cause was a SQLite setting meant for the main database that Trailarr also applied to the scheduler's own database, and it affected every version since v0.12.0 (quiv#86).

  • A stop of Trailarr no longer waits for a running download without limit — Docker stops a container 10 seconds after it asks, and a stop during a download waited for yt-dlp or ffmpeg, so Docker killed Trailarr before it wrote its databases to disk; Trailarr now gives a running task 4 seconds, then stops, and the next run downloads that trailer again.

  • The log database no longer keeps a large leftover file — the logs.db-wal file in the logs folder stayed as large as the biggest daily log cleanup, often hundreds of MB, and a restart did not shrink it; Trailarr now empties it after each cleanup and at each start and stop, so the first start after the update gives the space back. Thanks @Jorman for the report and the file sizes that showed it! (#687)

  • A wrong API key now says so — when Radarr or Sonarr refused the API key, Trailarr said Unable to connect to API. Check your connection.; it now names the problem, such as Unauthorized. Check that the API key for this connection is correct.

  • A batch delete reports each item once — when a trailer could not be deleted, you saw two error messages and the rest of the batch stopped; Trailarr now reports that item once and goes on with the others.

  • The language box no longer pushes the trailer link off the screen — on the media details page, the language box took the full width of the Trailer row, so on a 1920x1080 screen the button that saves a new YouTube link was out of view; the box now takes only the space it needs, and on a phone the row wraps. Thanks @guizalan for the detailed report! (#697)

Other Changes: ⚙️

  • The Allowed Uploader IDs field takes a longer list — the field stopped at 500 characters, which is about 19 channel IDs; it now takes 2000 — see Allowed Uploader IDs.

  • The daily log cleanup no longer rewrites the whole log database — Trailarr compacts logs.db only when at least a quarter of the file is free space, so a NAS or SSD sees far fewer disk writes.

  • The task scheduler is updated to quiv 1.2.0 — this is the first stable release line of quiv; the tasks behave the same, and a stop of Trailarr no longer writes a traceback for each task listener that it cancels.
