Faster GLM decode, fixes for AMD PCs on Windows (setup, updates and start errors), a DeepSeek config check, and community pull requests.
- GLM decode: the DSA layers' feed-forward runs in CUDA graphs by default. On the PCs it was measured on, decode is about 8-9% faster, with the same greedy answers (#795, thanks @saatvik-viniak).
- AMD PCs on Windows (#805):
- A first setup without
--backend hipfinds an AMD-only PC (every card the HIP check accepts, named by an installed ROCm'shipInfo) instead of stopping atnvidia-smi. - An update whose engine rebuild fails stops with the reason and how to rebuild (
build-maya-hip.bat > build-hip.txt 2>&1, orSTART-MAYA.bat --setup --rebuild) instead of starting the engine from before under the new server and config. - An engine error in the middle of an answer ends that request with an error instead of stopping the server.
- A failed GPU buffer zeroing at start names its size and the driver's reason.
- A first setup without
- DeepSeek,
reasoning_effortin the config (#807): it is checked before the model loads, so a bad value stops the start at once instead of after the load. A number above 100 (DeepSeek's effort is a level from 1 to 100) gets a message that points to"thinking_budget", the cap on the thinking in tokens. docs/SETTINGS.md says which setting is which. - DeepSeek on Linux: the n-gram table readers use twice the CPU's hardware threads (between 16 and 64) instead of a fixed 8, so cold prompts read faster on larger CPUs (#716, thanks @SeriousRising).
- Models page: a folder that another model reads files from is no longer listed under "Files no model uses".
- Community pull requests:
- GLM on several GPUs: an opt-in RAM tier that keeps each expert's halves on both CPU sockets (
MAYA_GLM_ROW_HALVES=1), plus CPU-lane pinning and profiling settings (#795, thanks @saatvik-viniak). - CPU lane: IQ1_S rows decode in vectors, with the same results (#695, thanks @sociolog).
- Opt-in: GLM decode defers the CPU's experts on every part of a split (
MAYA_GLM_DEFER_CPU=2, #722, thanks @oisee). - DeepSeek EXL3 packs: an F16 dense matrix loads as BF16 (#802, thanks @pepuscz).
- Opt-in: DeepSeek on RDNA 3 runs the indexer's scores on WMMA (
DS4_INDEX_TC=1, #801, thanks @pepuscz). - Experimental AMD MI50 (gfx906) support: the wave64 check, opt-in peer-to-peer split hops (
MAYA_GLM_P2P, #397), and MiniMax wave64 attention kernels (#800), thanks @nicholas631. - Opt-in: DeepSeek
--tp 2on NVIDIA reads prompts with an exact peer-VRAM all-reduce (MAYA_DS4_HIP_PEER_AR, #773, thanks @olobarius).
- GLM on several GPUs: an opt-in RAM tier that keeps each expert's halves on both CPU sockets (
