What fills each GPU, in the Monitor, and the expert pool's size as a setting in the config.
Update: the dashboard's About > Update, or git pull, then ./setup.sh (Windows: START-MAYA.bat). The engine recompiles; nothing is downloaded again.
What's new
- The Monitor shows what fills each GPU (#191 by @needmorevram). The GPUs table becomes a card with a bar for each GPU: the model's weights, the KV cache, the activations, a drafter and its verify window, the expert pool, CUDA and the rest, other programs and the free memory, with that GPU's load, power, temperature and PCIe link under its bar. Pointing at a part picks it out in every bar; a click opens a GPU's row with a sentence for each part, and the advice names the GPU (other programs holding memory that a restart would give to the expert pool, say). On two Tesla V100s the parts add up to what the NVIDIA driver reports for each card; on AMD, where the driver does not list the memory a process holds, the card shows the engine's own measurement at its start.
- The expert pool's size in the config (#192 by @needmorevram).
--expert-cache auto, the default the setup now writes, sizes the pool from the free VRAM less a reserve as before, and then checks that budget once it is written: under Windows the free figure read before an allocation can run about a gigabyte high, and a card filled past it pages GPU memory to system RAM, where decode runs several times slower. Short of the reserve, the pool gives back the difference.--expert-cache Ncaps the first GPU's pool at N experts;--vram-reserve-mib N(and--vram-reserve-later-mib Nfor a split's later GPUs) sets the reserve. At start the log says how much VRAM each GPU has free with everything loaded, and warns when it is low. The check is left out on the Ryzen AI Max APUs and where the free VRAM is far beyond what the pool can take.
NVIDIA GPUs give v1.1.10's tokens, and the Ryzen AI Max APUs keep v1.1.10's speed.
Checked
- Two Tesla V100s: the same tokens as v1.1.10; the engine's tests; the server end to end; the Monitor's map of both GPUs on a real start against the NVIDIA driver's figures.
- Radeon 8065S (Gorgon Halo, Windows 11): v1.1.10's answers and speed; the server end to end, two requests at once (
--parallel 2), the Monitor's map from the engine's own measurement. - The engine builds on Linux, Windows and Windows + AMD; the GitHub checks.
